Mommy Makeover Surgery

in Baton Rouge, LA

For moms ready to restore their body and reclaim their confidence.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are beautiful chapters of life, but they often leave lasting changes that diet and exercise alone can't always address.

The Mommy Makeover is a popular combination of breast and abdominal surgery designed to restore your body and help you feel like yourself again.

Because no two bodies are the same, yours is tailored to your needs: the breast procedure may include augmentation (breast enlargement), a lift (mastopexy), or both (augmentation mastopexy), while the tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) may be standard or modified depending on your goals.

What Procedures Are Included in a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover is a fully customized combination of procedures designed to restore post-pregnancy body changes. Treatment plans vary based on your goals but commonly include:

Each plan is tailored to create a balanced, natural-looking result.

Is a Mommy Makeover Right For You?

If you have experienced changes in your breasts and abdomen following childbirth and are certain that you will not have another pregnancy, a Mommy Makeover in Baton Rouge may be right for you. This procedure can improve post-pregnancy body changes that cannot typically be corrected through diet and exercise. Dr. Chiasson will carefully listen to your concerns and create a surgical plan tailored to your goals.

This outpatient surgery is performed under general anesthesia. You can expect a 1–2 week initial recovery period, with an additional 2–3 weeks before returning to full activities. Assistance with young children will be necessary during the first week after surgery, and you will not be permitted to drive for approximately 3–4 weeks.

The Best Part? The Results.

A Mommy Makeover is designed to address the changes that pregnancy, breastfeeding, and time can leave behind, often the ones that diet and exercise simply can't fix. Depending on your personalized plan, a Mommy Makeover can:

  • Restore fullness to the breasts that may feel smaller or deflated after breastfeeding

  • Lift and reshape sagging breasts to a more youthful position

  • Flatten and tighten the abdomen by removing loose, excess skin

  • Repair separated abdominal muscles (a common result of pregnancy) to restore core strength and a firmer profile

  • Improve the appearance of stretch marks, particularly those on the lower abdomen

  • Eliminate stubborn pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise

  • Restore balance and proportion to your overall figure

  • Renew your confidence and help you feel comfortable in your body again

Mommy Makeover - Before & After

Ask The Expert

Dr. Kate Chiasson

  • In most cases, I do recommend waiting. This procedure is meant to address the changes pregnancy leaves behind, and a future pregnancy can undo some of that work, especially in the abdomen. The procedure itself won't affect your ability to have more children down the road. If your family plans are still up in the air, let's talk it through, I'll help you find the right timing for your life.

  • Some scarring is a natural part of any surgery, but I take great care to place incisions where they can be hidden by clothing and swimwear whenever possible. Scars also fade significantly over time.

  • If you're bothered by the way pregnancy and breastfeeding have changed your body, there's a good chance you're a candidate. I look for patients who are in good general health, at or near a stable weight, and finished breastfeeding so the body has had time to settle. When we meet, we'll talk openly about your health, what's bothering you, and whether now is the right time for you.

  • Since we're often addressing both the breasts and the abdomen in one procedure, I want you to plan for recovery rather than rush it. Most of my patients take about two weeks to get through the toughest stretch and are back to their usual routine within roughly six weeks. Your final shape keeps refining over the months that follow as swelling fully resolves. Everyone heals a little differently, so I'll build a recovery plan around exactly what we do together.

  • When your weight stays stable and you keep up healthy habits, your results are made to last. The body contouring holds over the long term, and if breast implants are part of your plan, those last many years before there's any reason to revisit them. Your body will keep aging naturally, of course, but the goal is lasting change that helps you feel like yourself again.
